  • The Cannonball 5 Tribute Band

The Cannonball 5 Tribute Band is a homage to the renowned quintet of Julian "Cannonball" Adderley and his brother Nat Adderley. The original quintet recorded from 1955–1958, until Cannonball joined the legendary Miles Davis Sextet. In 1959, after leaving Davis's group, he reformed the quintet, achieving much greater success this time around. The Adderley Quintet became a leading force in the emerging soul jazz movement. Albums such as The Cannonball Adderley Quintet in San Francisco and The Cannonball Adderley Quintet at the Lighthouse broke new ground with live recordings in bustling club settings, establishing a format that many jazz ensembles would later follow. The band stays true to the original music played by the Quintet between 1955 and 1962. Their repertoire spans swinging tunes like This Here and Bohemia After Dark to funky soul crossover classics like Mercy, Mercy, Mercy and Sack O’ Woe.

    Guy Sion - Alto Saxophone

    Roy Nikolaisen - Trompet

    Lorenzo Nardocci - Piano

    Andreas Dreier - Bass

    Tom Olstad - Drums
