  • Dried Reeds

    Guy Sion - Alto Sax

    Børge-Are Halvorsen - Tenor Sax

    Alexander Hoholm - Bass

    Emil Norman - Drums

Dried Reeds began playing together in the autumn of 2020, during the "dry period" of the coronavirus pandemic, when all concerts were canceled. This challenging time sparked a creative urge among the band members to come together and explore new musical possibilities. The ensemble’s distinctive lineup—two saxophones, bass, and drums—lacks a harmonic instrument, offering its players the freedom to delve into melodic lines that transition seamlessly from Bird to Dolphy.

Their original compositions are marked by a sense of urgency and surprise, blending stress with unexpected beauty. Melodies evolve into baroque-like duets before exploding into fiery solos, while energetic grooves dissolve into delicate rhythms. Every note serves the intensity and emotion of their music, creating a dynamic and immersive listening experience.
